A well-known Nigerian fashion designer and stylist, Toyin Lawani, has criticized the producers of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, over the startling eviction of one of the housemates, Hermes Iyele from the competition.
Hermes, who many people considered to be a top candidate for the top prize, was eliminated from the competition on Sunday night.
The viewers of BBNaija were shocked by Hermes’ eviction because they thought he was one of the strongest housemates in the ‘Level Up’ season.
Many people expressed their displeasure with the show organisers on social media, claiming that the voting was manipulated and that whilst other argued that Hermes’s supporters and fans did not turn out in sufficient numbers to vote for him.
Toyin Lawani joined the majority in condemning his eviction and accused the organizers of fixing the results.
Taking to his verified Instagram account, she claimed that the event planners played a cruel prank on them since she hadn’t recovered from her astonishment.
Hermes, however, received Toyin Lawani’s unconditional love and support as she named Hermes the winner.
Sharing a photo of Hermes, she wrote;
“Big Brother ti ripe wa o. They pulled a big joke on us, I still can’t believe it. Still heartbroken, I looked around and I saw many worthy candidates bit you still stood out. @hermesiyele win of lose you are a winner. Thank God to Big Brother for giving you this platform to share your amazing soul with us, Now it’s time for you to shine, it’s not about who won atimes, You are A STAR and your time starts now”.
